USE CASE: eLEARNING

Internal Audit Escape Room

In cooperation with PwC Deutschland, we have developed a gamified eLearning game specifically for internal audit teams. With training games, we loosen up revision training, impart knowledge and strengthen collaborative learning and working without neglecting the fun. On the contrary – it is the focus of eLearning!

In cooperation with the PwC project team, our game designers have planned a white-collar crime case involving suspected fraudulent activities in a telecommunications company. The task of the players is to carry out an internal audit and clarify the case through team spirit, skill and auditing skills. Due to legal entanglements and opaque connections, this is not that easy!

With the training game, the programmed puzzle modules and content are precisely tailored to the target group and can only be solved by them.

In addition to the immersive criminal case, the auditors learn subject-specific methods in auditing, how to use special auditing software and the German and international auditing network, thereby broadening their professional horizons in a playful way.

Topic-specific online escape rooms for personnel development in companies: Finally cutting edge modern learning measures!

Together with Storck, we trained approx. 150 managers and 100 HR employees on business process management in a 3-hour workshop with an online escape room – with a satisfaction rate of 95%!

In the 2-month conception phase, we defined companyand topic-specific identification features as well as learning objectives and learning content. This was followed by an exciting prototype phase in which our game design team set up BPM-oriented puzzle modules or programmed imitations of the Camunda process platform in order to incorporate everyday process modelling exercises into the game. This was followed by the implementation phase, in which we tought BPM experts from Storck as well as trained our ePlayces game leaders in game implementation. This way, all participants could be accompanied and supported to a high standard.

An online escape room in Werther Haus, Storck’s traditional factory, including BPM knowledge transfer and collaborative learning. A complete success and a learning experience of a special kind!

The Deutsche Bundesbank is positioning itself as a modern employer and is looking for IT students to strengthen its own workforce, especially in the field of cyber security!

For this, we have come up with something special: An Instagram campaign will run for 4 months, in which we will build an exciting story over several coherent feed images.

It is about an IT task force that is confronted with a hacker attack. Now the taskforce is looking for IT talent to help them with cyber security measures. To become part of the IT taskforce, the talents who become aware of the campaign have to pass challenges. These are placed on a special landing page that can be easily reached from the Instagram postings.

Hidden information in the source code, the URL or in specially programmed IT puzzle modules must be found. The clues obtained are sent to the Deutsche Bundesbank, and the correct answers to the challenges qualify the participants for the taskforce.

Successful completion is rewarded with participation in an applicant weekend. Our game designers have prepared a highlight for this: A 60-minute online escape game in which the hacker tries to attack the Bundesbank’s systems. The IT task force must now act as a team and kick the hacker out of the system during an exciting story. 60 minutes! Time is running out…. Can the IT talents catch the hacker?

The Bundesbank makes IT talents the protagonists of an exciting cyber adventure. This is how modern communication with new-gen target groups works!

The energy company envia Mitteldeutsche is looking for trainees and wants to place meaningful knowledge transfer in schools at the same time. But what is the best way to address pupils?

That’s right! With experience, fun and entertainment. This is why we have developed an online escape room, which is carried out in school classes using the Teach-The-Teacher concept for vocational orientation.

The story: A power failure threatens to paralyse Germany. The students have to intervene as quickly as possible and log-in as employees, uncover the correct clues for the emergency guide and prevent the blackout in time. The employee profiles represent the various training professions that enviaM offers. The entire game is played in the matching CI of the group.

A win-win-win situation: The pupils are educated about sustainability and energy production (win for the teacher), they have fun working out the solutions together (win for the pupils) and enviaM remains in the pupils’ minds for the apprenticeship professions (win enviaM).

"CIE Manifesto Quest"

An adventurous onboarding event for remote and crosslocation teams in the field of cloud computing: that was Accenture’s challenge for which a suitable solution had to be found.

Icebreaker, networking and knowledge transfer under one hat? It’s possible! With Online Escape Games.

So we set to work on designing the concept. The result was a game story in which the participants had to spread the message “#1 in Cloud and Beyond” throughout the universe by launching a rocket. Problem: The rocket lacks fuel!

In order to produce the fuel in the correct mixing ratio, teams of 6 people have to solve various puzzle modules in which we interactively ask for facts and know-how about the newly defined “CIE Manifesto”. Only when all the puzzles have been solved and the various components have been poured together in the correct ratio can the rocket be launched.

The participants get to know each other very well by working together, learning about the Manifesto with all its values, facts and visions. The game “CIE Manifesto Quest” thus paves the way for a modern and eventful onboarding with fun and great new acquaintances!

USE CASE: ASSESSMENT CENTRE

"Assessment Escape Game"

The Institut für digitales Management was looking for a virtual assessment centre and found happiness and success with us.

“We want to analyse the soft skills of our students and thereby find suitable companies for supervising and accompanying our students’ projects.”

No sooner said than done. The players played the game “Diamond Fever” and their performance was watched by observers. The players were rated on scales for various soft skills and compared with each other.

Through personal diagnostic puzzle modules, the observers were able to quickly identify where each student’s strengths and weaknesses lay.

The exciting thing about it: through the unexpected dynamics of the puzzle, online escape games provide authentic impressions of the players and test their problem-solving skills, stress resistance, teamwork and communication skills under time pressure. By diving into an immersive story, the players hardly feel like they are in an exam situation, but instead become part of the story and almost forget their surroundings.

The measure was crowned with success: the students could be well assessed and assigned to the appropriate projects.
